Partner

When I married Chet 5 1/2 years ago, I knew what I was in for.....life with a man who is determined, smart, witty, ambitious, an over-achiever, caring, UN-selfish, optimistic, Christian, handsome, can't ever say no to anybody.....basically, the best partner I could ask for.

It's no lie he's had several different jobs during our time together, and to say he's succeeded at each and every one of them would be an understatement. It just seems as if one job led him to another, which has opened the door and led him to another.

He has been at his current job going on 4 1/2 years, which probably feels like 10 years to him. He goes to work every day with a positive attitude and always, always, always puts the firm's and clients' best interest first, just as he does with our family. He works hard and works a lot, but it's all been for one reason - to take care of us. I love and respect him so much for that.

Recently, all of his long hours and hard work have paid off in a big, big way - he was offered a partnership in his firm. Is there a word bigger than proud because I am OVER THE MOON excited for him! It's been a big secret for quite some time, and now that the "cats out of the bag" it's busy season and the baby is almost here so we haven't even had time to celebrate (kinda like when you first find out you're pregnant - you and significant others know, but you don't tell anyone else for weeks, then it's like it really isn't even that big of a deal). I'm sorry, babe.

Chet, I hope you know how truly happy I am for you. You work so hard for our family and rarely get/take the credit you deserve. Our family, the firm, and your clients are so blessed to have you working for our/their team. And what's crazy is I know this isn't it for you, it's just the beginning. I am so, SO PROUD.....not just of your accomplishments, but for the father you are to our kids and the partner you are to me. We love you!

Chet Buchman, CPA, CVA Promoted to Partner

The CPA firm of Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, LLC is pleased to announce the promotion of Chet Buchman to Partner. Chet is a 2002 graduate of McPherson College where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance and a 2003 graduate of Kansas State University where he received his Masters Degree of Accounting with an Emphasis in Taxation. Chet began his professional career at KPMG in Kansas City, MO as a tax and audit staff accountant. In 2005, Chet moved back to McPherson and went to work for Home State Bank & Trust as the Vice President of Real Estate. Chet joined Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, LLC in August 2006. In 2009, Chet completed the certification process with the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) to earn the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) that certifies him to perform business valuation services. Chet's areas of concentration include tax preparation and planning for individuals, partnerships and corporations and a specialized expertise consulting with closely-held businesses. Son of Rod and Cheryl Buchman, Chet and his wife Jami happily reside in McPherson with their children Reese, Cru and baby #3 to come in February 2011. Chet enjoys spending time with his family and serving his community. Chet is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, board member of the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants (KSCPA), president of the McPherson College Alumni Board, and a member of the McPherson High School Business Advisory Council.
