Weekend review

Friday was our second night in a row of basketball, and a BIG thanks to my mom who not only offered to watch Cru again, but also watched Reese, so I actually got to watch the game!

Saturday was total chaos with Chet working at the office, Chet working basketball games, Reese roller skating, cheering on the Hawks (ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!), Chet not cheering quite hard enough for his cats, and cheering on Aunt Casyn for the third night in a row.

And to wrap up our weekend, we couldn't resist a little frolicking since yet again we were hit with another winter blast.

When Reese picked this up, she called it "a giant meatball!"

Here it comes, Mom!

You might want to cover your face!

Bam!

And with that, I wish you all a good week!

Dinner....

and a movie basketball game!

Last night was the start of our high school girls' basketball tournament....go Casyn! Before the game, Reese and I went to dinner with Aunt Cheyna and Aunty Chancey. (Daddy was already at the games and Grandma Linda offered to watch Cru....thank you!)

Reese made a new friend at the game, Cooper.

She had a good time with him especially when he showed her all of his cars; Reese loves playing with cars! Yes, she may play with cars, but she's still pretty girly. For instance, when Cooper pulled out a mini truck that matched a bigger one he said, "Look at the tiny predator!" And Reese said,"Ohhh, it's a baby, and she matches her mama." Ha!

One of Aunt Casyn's friends dresses up as the Bullpup. Reese spotted her right away last night and said, "Look it's Miriah!" I asked her if she wanted to go see her and have her picture taken with her. She quickly said, "No, she scares me."

I am determined to get a picture! I especially want one when Reese has her cheerleading outfit on.....she had it on last night! No picture alone with the Bullpup, but it's not so bad with Cheyna....sorry Cheyna.

I love Reese's "I really don't want to be doing this" smile. Oh well, maybe next time.

High five for being a good sport!

This one's for you, Babe.

9 times out of 10 I blog about my kiddos, but today, I'm blogging about someone who I admire, respect, and love more than anyone else - my husband.

The past two weekends he was recognized in the paper for some of his outstanding accomplishments.

His first accomplishment was successfully completing the certification process for becoming a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). Quite frankly, this article summed up his accomplishement with lots of big words that were way over my head, but basically, it's a pretty big deal. And huge for Chet because his passion is business consulting.

His second accomplishment was being elected to the KSCPA (Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants) board of directors. Whew, mouthful. Chet is the youngest CPA on the board, and I believe the youngest one to ever serve on the board. There is no doubt in my mind he will go above and beyond to contribute to the betterment of CPA's.

To say I am proud of Chet sums it up, but doesn't say enough. He amazes me every day with how he gives 110% to me, to our family, to his colleagues, and to his clients. His mind works non-stop, trying to think of ways to better people and/or their situations - business or non-business related.

Thank you, Chet! Thank you for working so hard for this family. Thank you for working so hard for your bosses, coworkers, and clients. Thanks for giving your all ALL the time. You deserve this recognition. You deserve nothing but the best. Reese, Cru, and I love you and are beyond proud.

One month from today

(well, yesterday if you're reading this on Wednesday)

my handsome little man will turn 1!

11 months old, that's so crazy!

Here are a few new things Cru is doing:

He's pulling up on EVERYTHING!

He's started throwing things. (Grandpa thinks he should be throwing with the other hand)

His favorite trick - SOOO

BIG!

Meal time is an absolute nightmare!

He screams like he's starving, but then when you try to feed him, he screams because he doesn't want it...SO frustrating. A few of the foods he actually does eat are bread with jelly, pizza, french fries, spaghetti o's, yogurt, pudding....pretty much anything sweet.

He's such a little boy. For instance today, I dug a pencil eraser and a leaf out of his mouth.

He sits at the back door and says, "Cooo!" (translation Coy)

He likes to share (didn't learn that from Sissy), but expects you to give it back right away.

He's got a new found love for babies.

Happy 11 months, Cru-Cru!
