Cru is 1!

With all we had going on on Friday, it hardly felt like Cru's actual birthday....sorry Buddy. I think we made up for it though on Saturday. You (and our family) are so blessed to have such great family and friends help celebrate the day you entered the world. Thank you to everyone!

Warning: I like to post lots of pictures, but his one takes the cake.

Another great banner made by Grandpa!

The party started with lunch......why do grilled hot dogs always taste so dang good?

Carter and his mommy, Mindy, enjoying some lunch.

Casen's shirt says it all.

Birthday boy excited for what's next!

CAKE!!!

Diggin' in

and stuffin' it in

and rubbin' it in.

I found others stuffin' it in too!

Must be some good stuff!

I think he's had enough. What's a party without tears, right?

Lets play! (Maddox and Asher)

I love this picture....not sure who had more fun Reese running with the balloons or both Carters chasing the balloons. They did this for quite a while.

Showing Grandma some of his standing skills.

Happy Birthday to me!

We almost forgot about presents.

Checkin' it out.

Finding something good.

Of course, Sissy was the official gift opener.

You're gonna like this, Bubby.

Cru decided crawling thru tunnels was more fun than watching Reese tear into his gifts.

Cru gave all of his younger guests personalized balls.

Reese and her two Carters.

Thank you for coming!

I think we were all partied out.

Thank you again to everyone who made this such a special day for Cru.

Flashback Friday: Cru addition

Instead of re-sharing pictures of Cru that are already posted on the blog (feel free to look back at them if you'd like), I thought I'd flashback to some that I've never posted. These are all from the day he was born. Don't get me wrong, I love all the ones I have taken over the past year, but these hold a special place in my heart. That day was amazing. I still remember being so surprised when the doctor said, "It's a boy!" I sobbed and sobbed. I tried to stop because the crying was making me shake and I thought my c-section scar would be crooked, but I just couldn't help; I was overcome with pure joy. And he's been filling our hearts with joy every day since.

PS - thanks to my dad who took most of these pictures.

One year well child check

This morning Cru had his one year well child check.

How many times can I say it, I can't believe my baby is a year!

Anyways, he's doing great.

Cru's one year stats
weight: 22 lbs. 1.5 oz.
height: 30 inches

Once again, he's pretty much the size Reese was.

Tomorrow is jam packed. I'm taking the kids to Beloit for Cru's one year photo session, which will pretty much be an all day outing. Not good considering I have tons to do in preparation for Cru's party, which is Saturday. Also, tomorrow night is Aunt Casyn's last home/regular season basketball game. As soon as we get home from that, it's cake-making time! And Saturday, where do I even begin. All for my little man....good thing he's cute!
