Happy Friday

Mid-week I was pretty bummed. Frustrated. Fed up. But I did my best to keep my half full attitude, kinda, and look, it's now Friday! A happy Friday!

What makes a happy Friday.....

The kids and their early morning monkey business.

My parents made it safely to Texas and from all the texts I've received, they are already having a fabulous time.

A movie date tonight with Chet, Sex and the City 2, and a giant bowl of ice cream!

Peanut butter cups with my very own Reese's peanut butter cup. Wait! Who am I kidding? Not just peanut butter cups, we've been enjoying all kinds of Halloween candy this afternoon.

The new Taylor Swift CD. I just love her!

Crumbs are still covering the floor and there are even more fingerprints on the doors than before, but I've got squeaky clean bathrooms and fresh clean sheets.

Although, mine and Chet's plans for the weekend aren't going to work out, my kids have big plans and they are going to have a blast! And seeing family will top it all off.

See, a happy Friday!

A (snap)happy sunny afternoon

Hope yesterday's sunshine made you all as happy as it made us!

Half empty yet half full

It's been one of those weeks. You know, where you wake up and think, "It's only Wednesday!"

I am exhausted. Not just exhausted as in I-wish-I-had-an-extra-couple-hours-of-sleep exhausted, just exhausted with it all.

I go and I go and I go all day long because if I don't, I'll crash. But this week, I feel as if I'm being pushed beyond my limits.

I have zero patience with the kids. I mean zero. They fight, they hit, they yell, I yell. It's never ending.

When I get frustrated and fed up, I clean, and being pregnant and feeling like that, well, I'm a crazy woman. My floors are vacuumed and scrubbed (only to have crackers and markers and whatever else crumbled and dropped onto them minutes later), the living room blinds are Pine-Solly fresh, I used half a bottle of Windex on the front and back doors (only to be smudged with finger and nose prints minutes later), and everything is dusted.

But all I can think about is how the toilets are filthy, the sink is filled with dirty dishes, food is all over the counter tops, the back of my van is stuffed with crap from the storage shed, and nothing has been put back into the freshly painted toy room because there is paint on the floor.

But, deep breath, it is already Wednesday, which means tomorrow is Thursday, which means it's almost the weekend!

And this weekend is going to be a great weekend for my kids. They'll enjoy a neighborhood Halloween carnival, dressing up, and trick-or-treating. There will be lots of smiles, I'm sure. And then I'll realize how fast another week came and went.

And be thankful for all I've been given.

Wednesday Ramblings

Is this weather not gorgeous? It's mid almost late October, and we're still wearing shorts and t-shirts. I love it!

Last weekend, we went to Emporia to watch Aunt Casyn and her doubles partner play state tennis.

In case you don't know, our Aunt Casyn is a stud! I can't even begin to remember all the tennis honors she's earned in her career at MHS.

Also, in case you didn't know, tennis is a quite sport and quite my kids aren't! Snacks only work for so long.

So thanks to Grandma Linda who kept them busy during the championship match running, chasing, and fetching tennis balls.

They also watched a little pee-wee football.

Oh yeah, and remember Baby Mangino from a few years back?

They also met him and quickly became friends.

Casyn and Kirsten ended up taking 2nd place, which yeah, was a bummer, but like I said, Casyn is a stud, and of course, she made us proud.

We've had lots of new houses under construction on our block. The house right to the south of us is finally finished, and our new neighbors are finally here from KC, and Reese, well she couldn't be happier. They have a 4 year old daughter, Lindsay, who Reese has played with almost every day since they moved in. Reese might as well have moved in with them. The second day they were here, the girls were at our house for about five minutes, then took off for Lindsay's, and soon came back like this.

I'm so thankful to have another great family added to our neighborhood.

Reese isn't the only one spending quality time with a new friend. Cousin Cooter spent the afternoon over here the other day.

Him and Coy played....

and loved.....

and just had a dog-gone good time :)

So, Halloween is fast approaching, and we are excited. But to be honest, I was totally unmotivated to think of costumes this year. Despite my laziness, I'm sure they'll still look cute. Here's a little hint-hint of what our trick-or-treaters will look like this year.

Happy Hump Day!
