Halloween Happenings

We started out our Halloween weekend delivering spooky ghost cupcakes. First stop, Carter's! Well, technically, our first delivery was to Grandpa and his workers at Dirt Cheap, but they don't really count since they always get special deliveries when we bake.
So, first second whatever stop, Mr. Skeleton Carter's!

Carter and his little brother Maddox, two of the cutest little skeletons I've ever seen.
Last delivery was to Great Grandma Mary

Happy 1st Halloween Bubba!

Cru seeing himself for the first time dressed up.....drum roll, please!
Mommy was way too excited and Cru was speechless.
Aren't they just adorable?!
This was Reese's 3rd Halloween, but her first official door-to-door trick or treating.
She was of course, shy, but did very well at saying, "Trick or treat" and "Thank you." Although, we only visited about 7 homes down our street, I think she really enjoyed it because she had somewhat of a melt down in the middle of the street when we said it was time to go to Grandma and Grandpa's; she wanted to visit "just one more house." All was good though when we told her Grandma and Grandpa needed help handing out candy.
Cru says, "You did good, Sissy!" (clapping - one of his new tricks, he also started waving)
Only the cutest scarecrow ever, in my opinion
OK, not so cute. I think he's had enough.
Or maybe he just wanted in on the treat action.
You know the party is getting out-of-control toddler style when Dorothy starts becoming the scarecrow....or maybe that's what the wizard granted her.
Thanks for a good time, Grandma and Grandpa!
Every year just gets more and more fun. However, every year as they both get older, I have less and less say as to what they dress up as. I'm taking full advantage for as long as I can!

It's a zoo around here!

OK, so for some reason a lot went on today and a lot of pictures were taken. I separated them out into three posts so be sure to scroll through all of them.

Remember how I recently blogged about seeing a baby mouse in our basement? Well, despite setting 6, yes 6 traps, we still haven't caught the little booger. Chet seems to think it just disappeared. What?! I highly doubt it just disappeared. It probably found its mama and brothers and sisters, and they're all having a party in our basement. Nasty!

Anyways, so to add to our varmints in the basement, tonight we had another visitor, a flying one.

Yes, a bird IN THE HOUSE!

Let me explain, our garage door has been broken for the past few days so we've had to leave it open all day and all night. My first thought, more mice. Definitely didn't think about birds.

We got our garage door fixed today, so I happily went to close the door for the night, and all of a sudden Chet starts yelling, "Bird, bird!" What? Where? Oh, in the house. OH, IN THE HOUSE!

Chet quickly runs downstairs to get Reese's trusty bug net. Yes, the same bug net that was supposed to protect me and help me catch our baby mouse.

So, after the bird's initial landing on the rug, it took off into the laundry room, and as Chet is yelling at me to close the door and me not responding, it flies back into our eating area. It soon takes off down the hall (mind you, Chet is quickly following with bug net in hand). It lands at the end of the hall, and as Chet is trying to close all the bedroom doors, it flies into Cru's room. Chet disappears in there as well, but soon reappears.

Yay bug net, I mean Daddy!

Bye bye, birdie! You are no longer welcome in our home (or our garage)!

Everyone needs a trusty bug net!
Reese and all of her dancing friends got to dress up in their Halloween costumes for class today.

Of course, first we had to work on our poses.

This is serious stuff, Mom.

But not too serious.

We also had to work on skips before we left.

Reese and Hailey loving each other's costumes

Dirty Dorothy Dancing

Everyone was in a circle dancing to the Itsy Bitsy Spider except Reese who was busy watching herself twirl.

Then "Ratatouille" showed up and threw everyone off.

Did you see that?

Not much dancing went on today with costume distractions and of course treats!

But that doesn't really matter because look how adorable these girls are.

Oh boy

I know I just blogged about my little man, but this morning he was so funny and happy and into everything, I couldn't help it I just kept snapping.

Introducing

Hawk and Spidey Lady!

Spidey Lady proudly named by Reese herself.

Reese and I took a couple of these

and created, what we'd like to think, are some of the prettiest, sweetest, non-creepy spiders

And our last pumpkin became Hawk's new home.

Having kids gives me an excuse to be crafty or at least try.

8 months

When I was pregnant with Cru, I remember my due date coming so fast after the holidays. It's almost the holiday season, which means it's almost the new year, which means Cru is almost one.....I'm sad.

Happy 8 months!

One thing I'm not sad about is he's now saying "mama" and even trying to say "sissy." I love it!

Check out all those toothies!

I know this post is about Cru, but I just have to share this. The other day when I had Reese at the doctor's office, the nurse asked her if her brother had any teeth. She said, "No, he has toothies!"

Back to my little man

His still loves his tongue.

He's army crawling.

When he gets mad while on the floor, he does this swimming thing. His hands and feet both go in the air and he just screams (in every sense of the word).

Meal time is still messy.

He finally got some Bobux, finally!

Most of all, he loves his sissy.

Especially, when she has something in her hands.

Love you, Bubba!
