Reflect

Misbehaving ALL day, whining, begging, yelling, punishing, giving up and not punishing, threatening....just some of the words that come to mind when trying to describe our day.

But as I sit here in total peace and quiet with a handful of starburst, watching The Vow, reflecting on the pictures I've taken today, I don't see any of the above....

I see smiles, togetherness, love, happiness, laughter, creativity, blessings, Chet making it to Minnesota safely and thoroughly enjoying his scenery.

So, yes, it's been a rough day, but it's clear I have a lot to be thankful for!

Father's Day 2012

When you're a little girl and even a teenage girl, actually, maybe not a teenager, more like a young adult, you pray that you some day you will meet your prince charming, who will unconditionally love you and most importantly, be the best father to your future children.

Boy, did I find him ♥

He's a natural with 4 kids, huh?

Our Father's Day began with a special gift from our kids to Daddy. Earlier in the week, I dressed the kids in what little purple we actually own and took them out for some pictures. I even let Cru wear is KSU hat! Our daddy must be really special! We all know how the story goes when trying to capture that one perfect picture. We weren't off to a great start, so we took a short play break, then tried again....leave it to standing on a train car!

I printed this poster size, then used mod podge to make a homemade canvas for Chet's office.

We then headed to my parent's for lunch with them and my brother's family.

The guys played golf all afternoon, then Chet's family came over for supper.

To say my kids are blessed with an amazing daddy and grandpas is an understatement! I can't thank them all enough for everything they do for our family and what great role models they are to our little man, who will hopefully, fulfill some sweet girl's dream of finding prince charming....at least 25 years from now!

Pool's Open!

Ok, so apparently I was wrong when I said, "Who needs a pool?"

Because grandma and grandpa's pool is finally open and we are LOVING it!!!!

Reese is a fish! I love that she's feeling so comfortable in the water. Although, when Papa asked her if she wanted to invite some of her friends over to swim, she quickly said no because they splash :)

Cru is Cru and wants to do everything Reese is doing, but since he hasn't had any swim lessons yet, he just rocks the tube!

Suits are optional at grandma and grandpa's!

And Everlee, well, she's fearless!

Boy does she love the water! Makes for somewhat of a stressful swim.

And when she's not swimming, she's still having a good time!

All Papa's hard work (and money!) getting the pool ready has paid off! Thank you!!!

Balance or lack there of

We are in full summer mode here!

We spend all day, every day outside!

I love it!

The downfall, however, is finding a happy balance between it all.

Hence my lack of blogging.

I'm trying. But when my nights are spent getting insane with Chet, Casyn, and Cheyna, then working on hair bow orders til 2 am, I am beat.

Good thing we aren't early risers!

How do you all balance it all?

Just Dance 2012

With the end of the school year comes the end of another year of dance.

Reese's recital was so much more fun to watch this year. I'm not sure if it was because she actually kinda sorta knew what she was doing or if it was because the two little ones weren't in attendance (thanks so much to Grandpa Rod for staying back with them....and bathing them, putting them to bed, and doing our dishes!). Or maybe it's just the fact that she is growing up and becoming such a wonderful young girl that makes me so proud! Whatever the reason, it was a great recital!

Enjoy the show!

Leader of the costume parade

Back stage sassy and ready for her first dance!

All the dancers performing before intermission

She was excited for the jump and would get a little bit ahead of the beat :)

Second dance

Last dance with everyone - The Tu-dee-ta!

Reese was the oldest in her class this year, and she seemed to take on the leadership role not in a bossy sort of way, more like a big sister sort of way. We couldn't be more proud....

or more excited to have the summer off!
