We had a great Easter weekend that was full of lots of good food, laughs, company, and festivities!
But before I get to all that, lets not forget the true meaning of Easter. It's not about the new clothes you wear to church or hunting eggs. It's about our Lord raising up from the dead so we can live this amazing everlasting life!
Our Easter weekend fun began Friday with a little impromptu photo shoot, egg coloring, treat making, and family time!
The festivities continued into Saturday with an egg hunt at the park. Reese always enjoys this, and she loves seeing all of her friends there. And just as I thought, Cru was totally into the hunting thing. As we waited for it to start, he was eyeing all the eggs, and I kept telling him he had to run fast and grab as many eggs as he could, and then he would just take off. I'd have to hold him back and remind him, he had to wait until they said GO!
We spent Saturday evening at my uncle's pond celebrating my cousin's engagement. It was pretty chilly, but we still had a great time with family.
Sunday was the first time our family of five made it to church all together. It was great! But chaotic. And also very comical. My mother-in-law told me to record all these moments before I forget about them....
Before church began, my dad, Reese, Everlee, and myself were sitting in the pew when all of a sudden Reese got REALLY excited. She saw a celebrity! Which this person is somewhat of a celebrity in our small town, but not quite the celebrity Reese was thinking of.
Ha! It was priceless!
Then, during the longest prayer of our service, which would also be one of the quietest parts of church, Everlee decides it's the perfect time to explosively fill her pants. Looks and laughs all around us!
And lastly, when it was our pews turn to go to communion, coincidentally, Chet's family, who were sitting up in the balcony, was going at the same time, and Aunt Cheyna, who didn't think Cru could see her, ahem, started waving, and Cru yells, "CHEYNA!" Then, proceeds to hold his egg up in the air and yell, "Egg! Egg! Caid egg!" Mind you, this all took place during another very quiet part of the service.
Never a dull moment! But always a memory!
After church, we headed to my parent's house for a delicious lunch and lots of egg hunting!
Later Sunday evening, we headed to Chet's parent's house for more yummy food and lots more egg hunting!
What an awesome weekend! Our family is very blessed!!!
