Monday morning

Because of all the health issues I've had since Everlee's birth, we recently decided to hire someone to help me with Reese and Cru.

She's be great! Actually, beyond great. A true blessing.

She takes the kids every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. They play and play and play.

Normally, I look forward to this. I have uninterrupted time with Everlee, and when Everlee is content or napping, I have uninterrupted time to actually get some things done around here.

But today when they left, I was sad. Very sad. And I've just been sitting here more than ready for them to come running back through the door.

Not sure what's wrong with me. Maybe it struck a chord when our "helper" said they'd go feed the ducks later.....that's something I love doing with them.

Maybe I should just be thankful they are having fun. And maybe I just need to get up off my butt and start taking advantage of my time rather than throwing myself a pity party.

Still doesn't change the fact that I miss my babies!

HAPPY

Today, my girl is happy!

Happy for pretty pink bows handed down from big sister!

Happy for sunshine and a full belly!

Happy for Trumpette socks! A whole box of them....all different colors....found by Mommy at a consignment sale....for only $8!!!

Happy for butterflies!

Happy for those baby blues and lovely growing lashes!

Whatever the reason, my baby girl is happy! Which makes me happy!

2 months

Miss Everlee Brooke turned 2 months on Wednesday!

It seems as if she's taken a growth spurt this month because she is out growing newborn clothes, length wise. She also bumped up to size 1 diapers.

She still eats every 2 hours. When I have to be away from her, she does very well taking a bottle of breast milk. So I just have to vent for a sec. I have chosen to do one of the most unselfish sacrifices you can do as a mom and breast feed my baby (at least that's my opinion), but why have I been so painfully punished with a second bat with mastitis, two shots of antibiotic in my butt, a 104 fever, and just plain feeling like crap? Just wondering....

She sleeps in a co-sleeper bed in between Chet and I (if I don't fall asleep nursing her). She usually sleeps 4-5 hours, then nurses on one side, poops her pants, has happy smiley time, then eats on the other side and falls back to sleep. I really can't complain.

Man, she's a good baby! Happy and lots of smiles. And she's really been working on finding her voice lately.

She loves the swing as much as her brother and sister did, which is a blessing. Lets me get something done.

Even though she's got strong neck muscles, tummy time isn't her favorite.

She's actually content for a while just laying on the floor kicking or sitting in her bouncy seat, which once again, is very helpful.

Happy 2 months, veetheart (Cru calls her veetheart (sweetheart) all the time. It's priceless.) We love you, and we are so happy you're part of our family.

Grandma Day

This past Friday was my mom's last Grandma Day (she gets 5 days off when a new grandchild is born). For once, we didn't have to spend it in some doctor's office, so we decided to have a little fun!

Even though the kids are finally getting healthy, we decided to go to germ-infested McDonald's anyways.

They really had a blast! Probably because we were finally out of the house!

It won't be long before this sweet pea will be running right behind them.

Since the kids were having so much fun (and behaving!) and the sun was shining, we decided to forgo nap time and continue our play time at the park.

Cheese face!

He's all smiles here because he was eating rocks!

Thanks Grandma for such a fun day! We love you!

Saturday night

Just when I think we are finally on the mend.....

BAM!!! We get hit with something else.

Or in this case, we hit something else.

All I want to do is vent....

But instead I think I'll give thanks.

Yes, we have bumps and bruises, stiff necks and sore backs.....

so many what if's.....

But thank you, God!

Thank you for seat belts and air bags. Thank you for not giving me time to react. Thank you for keeping my daughter, my mom, and myself safe......

It could have been SO MUCH WORSE!

And the binging continues....

I've kept to my word and went on a spring cleaning binge every afternoon this week.

It felt good to sort through Reese's closet....

Afterwards, I was able to restock all three kids' closets with hangers!

I also worked on Everlee's towering corner.....

She "helped."

Meanwhile, next door.....

Uhh, I think I'll go back to my little angel.

I can't stop now.....it seems to be working......tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and 71!

Sippin' chino with Papa

Let me preface this by saying one distinct memory I have of my Grandpa Reese was sitting on his lap and sippin' coffee. We would stir it and tap, tap, tap the spoon, then he would have us sip it off the spoon. The only problem, none of us liked it, except maybe Andrew?? Thus far Cru is like Andrew.....except there's no stirring and no coffee. Now it's fancy cups with lids and cappuccino.

When we go out to Papa's store, one of the first things Cru asks for (after cookies, of course) is drinks of Papa's cappuccino.

Yes, Papa complies (what are Papa's for, right?) even though the last thing this kid needs is caffeine.

Yesterday, Cru got his own cup of chino!

They sip and say, "That's some good chino!"
