Soccer: FINAL WEEK!!!

Our final week of soccer finally arrived!

Day one went well. Or maybe I was just seeing the light at the end of the tunnel....we made it to the end.

Cru and Coach Damon, who was amazing! Both of his coaches were, and we truly appreciate their patience and energy they had each week!

Cru and Coach Sam

The evening wasn't without it's frustrations, but at least we had no puking on the field!

Time to watch Reese and her friends!

Mallorie, Reese, and Addi

Ellie and Reese

At some point, Reese decided she loved playing goalie. Not sure if it was because she wanted to be like Coach Molly....

or because she got to be lazy and do lots of cheering???

She did very well despite her reasoning.

Addi and Reese....love!

Day two of our final week I took no pictures. I actually missed the whole thing! Remember back during week three when I said I was supposed to have a hair appointment the same night we had a gazillion other things going on? Well, I rescheduled my appointment, and it was on the last night of soccer. I hated to miss, but my hair takes priority! I kindly asked Chet to take my camera, but that was shut down very quickly.

Good thing Mindy is a picture-lovin' mama like myself and took these!

Cru admiring his medal!

Reese, Cru, and Asher

Asher and Cru

Reese, Mallorie, and Carter

Carter and Asher Allen, Mallorie, Cole, and Karlie Cooper, Reese and Cru Buchman :)

Wow, we made it! Wasn't sure we would, at times. I will admit though, when the following Tuesday rolled around and we didn't have to scramble around getting shin guards and shoes on and we didn't head out to the fields for an evening of whining and water breaks, I kind of missed it.

Good thing t-ball starts next week!

Very proud of my champions!

Soccer: Week 4

Week three was not without it's drama.....

Day one of week three I forgot my camera! My excuse - soccer, pre-school and kindergarten round up, and Chet's office party.....ALL in one evening! I was supposed to get my hair cut that night too!

Day two of week three.....Chet was home in time to help me get the kids to the field! Hallelujah! When we got to the fields, he took Cru duty first, which meant I actually got to watch Reese!

It had only been about 20-30 minutes since they started, and I hear someone behind me yelling, "Mom! Mom!" I turn around and see Cru running towards me and Chet and Everlee following behind. "I just frowed up!"

Huh?

"I just frowed up!"

I guess there's worse places to puke in public.

And apparently, bananas and orange juice (and some other snacks) before soccer do not sit well with the little man's tummy.

We decided it was just best to take him home because at that point, we didn't know yet if he was actually sick or not. So, Everlee and I enjoyed watching big sis the rest of the time!

She may tend to do a little more cheering than playing, but that's part of why I'm so proud of her!

Her snapping cheer after her teammate scored!

She's growing up way too fast for my liking!

A little duck, duck, goose to end the evening.

She thinks she's sneaky!

Who needs a pool....

....when you've got a hose!!!

Last week, we had some very unseasonably warm hot weather, so as the kids and I ran some of our daily errands, I mentioned playing in the water during Everlee's nap. They were beyond excited! And so was I....time to bake this pasty skin!

Hello, stud!

Hello, diva!

They played for hours with just the hose, some buckets, a plastic tub, and very little fighting (the best part!).

The next day hit 92!

Here we go again!

He kept asking me to take his picture.....what was I supposed to say? No?

Not to my handsome man with a fresh cut!

Those two days were just a taste of what's to come this summer!

Can't wait!

NO MORE TRAINING WHEELS!!!!

As your kids get older, their milestones seem to take on a whole new meaning.....

A couple Fridays ago, we had just finished dinner, and the kids were begging to head back outside for a little more play time before baths.....love spring evenings! I hadn't heard any talk of teaching Reese to ride her bike without training wheels, but apparently Chet had because when I got outside, he was taking her training wheels off!

Lets do this! I guess.

We thought it might be best to start in the grass....

Everything looking and going good so far!

However, less than five minutes later, cue the tears and cue the cuss words!

It was a disaster, to say the least! Chet was frustrated, Reese was totally discouraged (sometimes I think she's afraid of hard work) and had pretty much just given up.....after five flippin' minutes! I mean, the attitude on this girl can be wicked....have no idea where she gets it from.

Putting the training wheels back on was not an option, so we decided it was best just to ignore her.....

Happy faces!

Chet was doing all the teaching, but I was giving all the orders....I told we were going to accomplish this this weekend!

First thing the next morning, they were back at it.....

There were more tears and more frustration.

But it didn't take long before there was a break thru.....more like, a let go!

She didn't even know he had let go. She was just riding.....

Jayden stopped by to give some encouragement.....

She was riding and loving every minute of it!

You should see her now! She's even rode home (well, to Grandma's) after school.

And my favorite part.....hearing her tell people, "My Daddy taught me!"

Daddy's, ahem, encouraging tone, must have really motivated her!

Very, very proud milestone we will never forget!
