Our day with Charlee

Last Sunday, we spent the day in El Dorado with Ty, Audrey, and Charlee. Reese was beyond excited to meet her new cousin; she's been asking LOTS of questions.



Cru was very interested as well, but not always in Charlee.



My mom was worried about me hogging Charlee the entire time we were there. And she had every right to be, look at this precious thing.





Little did she know, cousin Reese was the Charlee-hog, BIG TIME!





She was just as in love as all of us are and more.



And wanted to help and watch everything Charlee did.



I can't hardly blame her though.....





She's still just as precious as ever.



Thanks for letting us visit! Reese talks about and misses Charlee so much. We are all counting down the days until we see her again.

19 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How far along: 19 weeks
Size of baby: He/she weighs around 8 1/2 ounces and is about 6 inches long (crown to rump)



Total weight gain: 10 pounds....so glad I'm not stepping on the scale again this week!
Maternity clothes: No, but I wish fall would just get here and stay so I could wear my maternity jeans instead of squeezing into my shorts and cutting off my circulation.
Gender: ?
Movement: Yes
Sleep: Sleeping good
Symptoms: Just tired
What I miss: Mt. Dew
Cravings: None
Best moment of the week: Meeting my new niece, Charlee Mae. Lately, I've been a little scared/overwhelmed thinking about having a third child, but Charlee's birth reminded me that I am truly blessed to be carrying another child. And when he/she arrives, yes, it's going to be crazy and chaotic, but there is no better gift in the world.
What I'm looking forward to: Fall, except where is it? I'm tired of it still being 90 degrees!

This morning, My mom emailed me these pictures of Charlee Mae. I couldn't resist sharing them because a - she looks like she's already changed and b - she's just the sweetest little thing.

Charlee Mae Reese

We kept getting text messages and calls throughout the day yesterday that the newest member of the Reese family would be arriving!



My parents, Chet, and I headed towards El Dorado around 4:45 (thanks so, so much to Grandma Cheryl for watching Reese and Cru!).

Ty and Audrey had been at the hospital since around 11:00 am, so they had already been playing the waiting game.

Audrey was as strong as an ox and as cool as a cucumber; she was amazing!

While she quietly bared through contraction after contraction, we chatted. Mainly discussing names; a special time that I don't think any of us will forget.



Hours passed and Audrey slowly progressed.

Finally, a little before 2 am, it was time to push.

We waited with full anticipation for that first cry.



Nearly an hour later, she arrived! Oh, her mama worked hard. And her Daddy worked hard not to pass out.

That first cry, there's nothing like it. It was so soft and sweet.

And there she was with the proudest Daddy in the world.

Oh sweet Charlee Mae, we are all so in love.



And we are all so proud of this new family and so overwhelmed with happiness for them.

18 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How far along: 18 weeks....almost half way!
Size of baby: weighs almost 7 ounces and is around 5 1/2 inches long - around the length of a belle pepper.
Total weigh gain: 10 pounds....I gained 7 flippin pounds in a month! Whoops! It's ok though because half of it went to my boobs! At least that's what I'm telling myself.
Maternity clothes: No
Gender: ?
Movement: Yes!
Sleep: Sleeping good except for pre-school mornings....Reese told me the other morning that it wasn't time to get up yet because it was still dark out. I feel ya, girl.
Symptoms: No energy
What I miss: Mt. Dew....maybe I didn't have energy before I was pregnant, it was just my daily dose of Dew.
Cravings: Nothing lately
Best moment of the week: Today! Our day started with my doctor's appointment, and despite having to take both kids by myself (which yeah, doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but when it's my appointment and it's me laying on the table and me peeing in the cup, it's kinda a big deal with two crazy kids locked in a tiny room, then one has to poop in the middle of the appointment, but is scared to go because she thinks she's going to have to poop in a cup.....chaos is more like it.). But it went well (besides the scale shocker). Heart beat was good and strong. We then went to McDonald's for breakfast, where the kids played and I chatted with some other moms - adult conversation always makes my day! We then went to the park to feed the ducks.





All went great until we ran out of bread, which Cru then proceeded to feed the ducks his hat - his KU hat that he wears EVERYWHERE :( Reese sobbed and sobbed - "It's drowning, the sharks are going to eat it!" I was yelling at her to find me a long stick....."'Ahhh, it's drowning!" Despite all my efforts to save the hat, which included even folding up our stroller to try to reach it and almost falling belly first into the nasty water, I'm guessing sharks probably didn't eat it, but it sure as heck drown. I'm so sad. Today was still a good day though. I made tons of bows this afternoon, Cru and I enjoyed Sonic drinks after a hot walk through the park with my mom (yes, I did look in the water for his hat as we walked. No such luck.), we had Chinese for supper, and of course, topped my night off with ice cream.



What I'm looking forward to: The birth of my niece.
