Annual After Tax Season Trip to the Zoo

Off to the zoo to celebrate tax season finally coming to an end! The weather didn't cooperate on Friday, so we went Saturday. It was packed, but the sun was shining, and we really couldn't have asked for more.

The goats were, of course, a bit aggressive.

Reese was not impressed, thus moving us thru the petting zoo rather quickly.

I was hoping to see the baby penguins everyone has been ranting and raving about, but they all seemed to be hiding out, which was a little disappointing.

The giraffes....oh the giraffes! My personal favorite.

Reese would get out of the stroller for a better view, but then get right back in eager to move onto whatever was next.

She kept begging and begging to see the tigers.

Doesn't get any better than that, Reese!

There seemed to be a lot of this going on.

As the afternoon went on, I really wanted to join them.

Reese has two stuffed gorillas that she really loves, so I was really excited for her to see real gorillas.....she was not impressed. She freaked and kept calling them mean.

However, she was totally mesmerized by the orangutans.

He seemed to be somewhat of a showoff. But hey, at least he was doing something besides snoozing.

Despite a couple freak-outs by Reese, a small stroller malfunction, and hundreds of kids running crazy, our kids behaved very well.

At times, Cru even seemed to be taking it all in.

And of course, we couldn't leave without "Gloria" the penguin and a new ball.

Up until now, this time of year is a struggle. Chet works very hard, and at times, instead of praising him and supporting him for what he does, I get frustrated....sorry, babe. Once it's finally done, it always feels like it went so fast, but I know it's a long strenuous time for you. We appreciate your hard work, and we appreciate you trying to juggle it all and keep us number one on your list. Thank you for your hard work!

Now it's time to play catch up.
