I think my kids are pretty darn LUCKY!

(Cru (smitten with his new girl friend), Molly, Aunt Cheyna, Reese, and Aunt Casyn)

Happy Birthday Grandma Cheryl

March seems to be a busy birthday month or maybe it seems that way because they kinda all hit at once. Grandma Cheryl's was the first celebration (actually last night and this past weekend was the first with my cousin Susan).

My name is on the cake too since my big day is coming up!

These two munchkins just couldn't keep their hands and tongues away from the cake!

Good stuff and good times!

Happy Birthday Grandma Cheryl! We love you and hope you had a wonderful day!

Wrap it up....or maybe not

All I wanted to do was quickly wrap Grandma Cheryl's birthday present. Is that so much to ask? Reese and Cru wanted to make sounds in the wrapping paper role, so I gave them each their own role and told them they could be as loud as they want, but don't unroll the paper.

They listen so well.

Then I noticed someone had thrown garage sale stickers into the mess.

And that someone who found the stickers in a drawer must have also found a glue stick and left it on the floor for another someone to dig his teeth into, literally.

The littlest tasks can be so difficult sometimes. But hey, I did learn that a role of wrapping paper can make for some good entertainment.

A good start to the week

Last week was rough. Rough doesn't really describe it. From death to hospitalizations even season-ending basketball games, bad news seemed to follow our family all week. And usually, things only get worse when you think about it being Monday. However, this Monday seemed to be the pick-me-up we needed.

We spent the evening at my parent's house with some very special family members that we don't see as often as we like, but it's always great when we do.

We enjoyed catching up and reminiscing.

The smiles were contagious.

It's spring break, which really doesn't mean that much when you aren't a college student spending it in Cabo, but for us it does mean more time with family......and that's really what it's all about.

This was definitely a good start to the week!

"I promise, Mommy, I did not get into your make up."

My heart is aching....aching beyond belief. As I continue to sit here in complete and total shock, I reflect on my day. Thank you, God, for the memory Reese made today of getting into my make up and playing innocent. She looked absolutely beautiful....from head to toe.
