Reese had her first machine pitch softball games tonight - a double header.

IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!

We are a baseball family.  Softball is different.  I was worried how it would go, but....

SHE DID AWESOME!

And she loves it!

Our whole team did awesome tonight!  I'm not just talking about their softball skills, but team skills too....helping each other get the catcher's gear on and off, showing teammates where to go on the field, cheering for their teammates.  It was so rewarding and exciting to watch!

She did not get a hit her first time up to bat....pretty much no one did.  First game jitters!  And the machine was a mess!  But the girls really came around by the second inning!  Reese got on base every time after that!

She played third base one inning....Grandpa said she needs to be there every time!  She fielded great!

She requested to play catcher in the second game.  I nearly passed out in shock....but was definitely proud!

Yes...I can coach and take pics :)  Duh!

I brought my big camera, but forgot a memory card, so all these are from my phone....blurry, grainy, but captured memories!

Hope the rest of our season is as fun as tonight!

So SO proud of you Reesee!!!

Lots going on....

Some men prefer to be a chick magnet.  This guy....a baby magnet ♥
Bonnie Jayde, almost two months, has Uncle Chet wrapped around her tiny little finger.

And while all of the above (plus more!) is fun (and exhausting!), there's only one thing that matters....

My whole world.

The way they love their daddy....

It's true.
It's unconditional.
It forgives easily.
It grows as they grow.

I pray someday they follow in his unselfish, successful, God-loving, witty, intelligent, fun-loving footsteps.

Ok, maybe not his exact footsteps....

I ran short on patience today.  Preparing for a garage sale with three kiddos running around is not an easy task.  It's my own fault.  I know that.  Just wish it could be easier.  But hey, if it were, more people would do it, right?

I'm just happy that tomorrow is d-day.  I'm ready....well not exactly.  Nothing is priced, but I'm ready in a sense that I'm ready for it to be over.

I'm ready for our days to go back to normal....

You know....bomber jacket jean wearing (yes, it's summer) mama's college keychain (with keys) tucked in your back pocket carrying a kitty normal :)

The Wait Is Over....

First tball game of the season....

Will be a sad day when my little man is too cool to wave at his mama.

Little Miss dressed to impress her boyfriend, Thatcher, who is on Cru's team....

To be honest, Thatch was rocking his own look as well....

Seriously, so cute!  They're pretty perfect for each other!

I have a feeling, it's going to be a long season....for many reasons :)

But at the same time, it's definitely going to be a fun one!

You know that feeling when you have something you have to get done, so you do everything but that one thing?  That's me this week...

I'm having a garage sale 😖

I'm actually feeling ahead of the game a bit, but still SOOOO much to do....

Yet, this is what I was doing instead....

What can I say, ALL that rain made me feel creative....

I asked the girls to give me two seconds and a coupe smiles....

They asked for red lipstick....

I consider it a win-win!

Since the rain did not stop ALL DAY LONG

I decided to finally get my butt in gear with the sale, which in turn, turned into cleaning out the entire storage room at 10:30pm!

It felt like a good idea at the time...

Wonder what I will feel like doing tomorrow....

Relay For Life

My mom and I took the girls out late tonight to visit Relay for Life.

It was held at McPherson College Brown Auditorium this year instead of Wall Park due to resent flooding.

It's always humbling walking through the luminaries, reading the names....survivors, those still fighting, and deceased.

Some names so fresh.

Our luminaries paid tribute to my Grandma Reese (we talk of her often but call her Grandma Bonnie now :))

Every time I try to think of words to describe her, I draw a blank; there are no words great enough.

And just as I find myself wishing for more time with her, I'm reminded of the time we did have.  I am forever grateful for those years....such wonderful memories that I love telling my kids about.
